What’s the best way to get to Ala Moana from Waikiki?
Aside from taking the bus, a cab to Ala Moana Center from Waikiki, I believe the best way to get to Ala Moana (and Victoria Ward Centers for that matter as well) from Waikiki is by taking the Waikiki Trolley’s Pink Line.
With 11 stops around Waikiki, the Pink Line (also called the Ala Moana Shopping Shuttle Line, by the way) starts at the DFS Galleria Waikiki and ends at Ward Center. If you’re starting out from DFS, getting to Ala Moana takes about 20 minutes — definitely better than taking a bus. For more information about the Pink Line’s route, please click here.
Although the Waikiki Trolley offers 1-day and 4-day trolley passes which allows passengers unlimited re-boarding privileges on all their lines (with the exception of the Waikele Trolley), The Pink Line also accepts one-way fares to and from Ala Moana. At $2.00 per person one-way, the fare makes the Pink Line a cheap alternative to taking a cab.
